In a video posted to TikTok by mommamoe21, a small child by the name of Aiden can be seen attempting to ward off his cousin Amory as she repeatedly tries to chew on his arm.

But while that type of interaction is common enough, it’s Aiden’s subsequent response that left many viewers in stitches, with the young tot filmed calmly walking over to a nearby plastic chair before lifting it above his head, ready to strike Amory down. The clip can be watched here.

It should be noted that no toddlers were harmed in the making of this video but it’s also entirely normal for kids of this age to struggle with the occasional bout of aggressive behavior.

A research paper penned by academics from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University previously concluded that aggression in toddlers can be attributed to an inability to regulate behavior rather than any form of malicious intent.

Scientists found that behavior of this kind tends to naturally decline as infants develop an ability to inhibit these impulses and adopt alternative strategies to problem solving.

Even so, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologysuggested some form of parental intervention can be beneficial.

The researchers behind the study found that the mothers of aggressive children were less likely to correct misbehavior that then escalates to acts of aggression compared with mothers of nonaggressive kids. The parents of nonaggressive children were found to not only intervene but coach their kids through the situation before things escalated further.

That’s certainly the role being taken by Aiden’s mom in the viral video shared to social media, with a female voice audible throughout the clip warning him off retaliation against Amory.

It’s just as well, too, given what the youngster appeared to have in mind. As the clip shows, when Amory first begins biting, Aiden can be seen trying to fight back by tapping his cousin on the head.

This prompts a verbal warning from his off-screen parent or guardian - but Aiden isn’t done yet. Seconds later he is seen calmly walking over and picking up a blue plastic chair.

Just as it looks like he’s about to bring it crashing down on Amory’s head, he finally heeds the audible warnings of his mom and opts not to use the plastic seat as a weapon.

Conflict averted, it seemed the parents who were present were quick to see the funny side, with the clip ultimately winding up on social media.

It’s proven similarly popular there, though some viewers did express sympathy and support for Aiden, noting that he had been dealing with plenty in the way of provocation prior to deciding to strike back. “Aiden took all he could,” thathorn123 said, with Joe Hokis adding: “He was like if the grownups won’t stop him, I will.” Marribel Guerrero said: “when enough is enough” while Royalty_Rel commented: “He was so over it. He said he got this handled.”

Others, meanwhile, compared Aiden’s response to something you might see in professional wrestling. “He said yall wont stop him from biting me so he’s about to go Night Night,” Brandi Butler quipped. “He’s been watching too much WWE.” William Eklund, meanwhile, commented: “You guys just passed up a WWE career in those 2 seconds” with giana2b adding: “Yeahhhh no more WWE for him.”

Despite the two toddlers appearing at odds in the clip, the person posting the video insisted they had plenty of other videos showing the pair getting along famously. “It’s not always war,” they insisted.
