Unlike many other digital games on the market, Wordle is simple enough that nearly anyone can play it. That doesn’t mean, however, that the title is easy. In fact, the words selected by the New York Times have, on occasion, been so obscure that players hadn’t even heard of them before. That isn’t the case for today’s Wordle, but wordsmiths might still have a hard time guessing the newest five-letter word.

How is Wordle Played?
The rules of Wordle are simple. Players have six chances to guess a five-letter word. After each guess, incorrect letters are eliminated, which helps fans deduce which word might be the answer to the puzzle. The key to success for many is choosing a good first word. This word can help get rid of odd letters and expose common vowels. First words, and subsequent guesses, should be:
Exactly five letters long. Filled with common letters to eliminate the obvious. Carefully considered.
Once players have finished the daily Wordle, the game will show them their personal Wordle statistics. Any player that correctly guesses the word is successful, but people aim to find the answer within two or three attempts.
Of course, there are a few other rules to Wordle. When guessing words, the game will tell players if they are getting close to the correct phrase.
A green square means the letter that was guessed is in the right spot and therefore is one-fifth of the final answer. A yellow square means that the letter is part of the final word but is not in the correct spot.
A gray square means the letter is, unfortunately, wrong. This is how players can go about discovering if they are on the right track. The keypad on-screen will catalog the green, yellow, and gray letters for fans. This mechanic will be different in future tabletop versions of Wordle.
