The puzzle game requires its users to figure out a five-letter word in six tries or less, with no clues as to what the word is except for a color-coded system.
Wordle’s color-coded system helps users by showing a letter as green if it’s in the right place, yellow if it’s in the word but in the wrong place, and grey if it’s not in the word at all.
But even with this in place, sometimes a hint is required and so Newsweek has put together a number of them to help players reach the correct conclusion.
The answer is also provided at the bottom of the article for those who wish to see it— simply scroll down to the end.
Wordle was created by Josh Wardle as a game for him and his partner to play, and he decided to make it available to the public in October 2021.
The daily brainteaser quickly became a worldwide hit because of its fun premise, gaining over 45 million players after starting out with just 90.
It became so popular that Wardle sold Wordle to The New York Times in January 2022, and the puzzle moved over to the publication in February.
The graph below, provided by Statista, charts the rise of Wordle in recent months.
