It began with Wordle, where players have to successfully guess one five-letter word in six attempts, following a color-coded system to work out the words.
After each word guess, green tiles show the player has chosen the correct letter and that it is in the right place. A yellow tile means the letter is right but in the wrong place, while a gray tile indicates that the letter is not in the word.
Quordle is even trickier, as you have nine guesses to solve four words. It uses the same color-coding systems as Wordle.
Today’s answers are a little easier than most days, so don’t be intimidated.
‘Quordle’ Origins
The puzzle game emerged after a group of Wordle fans found the game too easy and wanted more of a challenge.
Some of the fans played Dordle, another Wordle spin off where players guess two five letter words—which again was too easy for this group.
An early prototype of the game came from engineer David Mah, which was later polished and completed by Freddie Meyer, who described the game’s creation coming from “a moment of evil and genius.”
“It was truly horrific code (it even had two keyboards) but I knew that I had to continue this madness,” Meyer said at the time. “With hindsight, [Mah] really baited me into finishing his monstrous creation.”
The game now has more than 2 million players daily.
