Today’s MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel advice for Thursday, May 30
SP: Mike Minor, Rangers vs. Royals. He’s a tough sell on DraftKings given the price, but on FanDuel, Minor should make for a strong pay-down from the high-priced arms. On paper, he’s got the best matchup of anyone on the slate, as the Royals don’t hit for any real power outside of Jorge Soler these days and he struggles against lefties. The whole team does really. They have the 28th-ranked wOBA, the 29th-ranked wRC+ and own a 24-percent strikeout rate against southpaws this season. Minor has four quality starts over his past six outings and he hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of those six starts.
C: Will Smith, Dodgers vs. Mets. In a short time, Smith has shown the ability to hit lefties at the big league level and should warrant consideration against Jason Vargas. It stinks the Dodgers bat him eighth in front of the pitcher, but his price tag might be too good to pass up.

1B: Ronald Guzman, Rangers vs. Royals. Feeling the need to pay down? Why not take advantage of a match-up against Jakob Junis who continues to get thumped and gives up home runs and walks. Guzman’s overall numbers don’t look good, but he does have two home runs and five RBIs over his past three games.
2B: Keston Hiura, Brewers @ Pirates. He’s hit safely in five of his past six games and has three home runs in that span. Joe Musgrove throwing to contact certainly helps, but so does the fact that Hiura has much more success against same-handed pitching than he does the opposite. He’s probably the pay-down for cash if you have trust issues with Rougned Odor.
SS: Tim Anderson, White Sox vs. Indians. Mr. Bat-Flip got all fired up yesterday after getting hit in the head on the second pitch he saw (the Royals hate him) and knocked in the game-winning run – the first real positive we’ve seen from him since missing time with the wrist injury. His numbers against righthanders are solid, so even facing Carlos Carrasco, he could be an interesting GPP pay-down.
3B: Miguel Sano, Twins @ Rays. The matchup with Charlie Morton is a tough one, even for a team as hot as the Twins, but I can’t ignore their bats completely, especially with the way Sano has made his comeback. He’s hit safely in seven of his 10 games and has three doubles, five home runs and nine RBIs in that span. He gets routine rest so he stays fresh, and he’s smacking around righthanded pitching. An aggressive approach at the plate could be the key here with Morton tossing first-pitch strikes 60 percent of the time.
OF: Starling Marte, Pirates vs. Brewers. Chase Anderson has struggled against same-handed hitting throughout his career, so looking at Marte who is 13-for-27 with a pair of home runs against him is a darn good idea. He’s a bit pricey for DK, but that’s a nice price on FD, for sure.

Today’s MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel advice for Thursday, April 25
Trevor Cahill, SP, Angels vs. Yankees. Cahill has struggled over his last couple of starts, bit he is getting to face a depleted Yankees lineup that just lost their 15th player (Clint Frazier) to the IL this season. I am not a fan of Cahill, but I think he is a worthy gamble in a GPPs, especially since he is so cheap and the Yankees offense can be very bad with all the holes in it.
John Hicks, C, Tigers @ Red Sox. Hicks is having a decent start to his season, but the power has been sparse thus far. He gets a struggling Rick Porcello and is one of the few mid-tier catchers worth playing today.

Luke Voit, 1B, Yankees @ Angels. Voit broke out of a mini-slump over the past few days, hitting three homers in his past three games. He has a matchup against homer-prone Trevor Cahill and should be in the lineup no matter the matchup considering the injuries the Yankees are dealing with.
Cesar Hernandez, 2B, Phillies vs. Marlins. Hernandez is putting up his usual numbers this year, showing a decent amount of power and speed while hitting for average He gets a great matchup today versus fly-ball pitcher Caleb Smith and is a nice mid-tier cash game play that is sometimes batting in the two-hole with Jean Segura out.-
Francisco Lindor, SS, Indians @ Astros. Lindor has struggled a bit since coming off of the IL, but it is just a matter of time before the rust is shaken off and he starts hitting. You get to use him at a reduced price making him my favorite upside play today at the shortstop position for GPPs.
Asdrubal Cabrera, 3B, Rangers @ Mariners. Cabrera is off to a decent start and hitting for power in spite of getting unlucky on balls in play right now. He has a tougher matchup with Marco Gonzales, who has been pretty good so far, but Cabrera already has six home runs and has a relatively safer floor than most 3Bs.
Domingo Santana, OF, Mariners vs. Rangers. Santana has been fantastic so far this year. He has five home runs and is hitting over .300. He faces rookie Taylor Hearn in his MLB debut, so Santana is a nice cash and GPP play.
